Dothan, Alabama – Environmental

Whitestone’s Phase I ESA for a retail shopping center outparcel in Dothan, Alabama identified environmental concerns warranting a subsequent Phase II SI that included soil borings/monitoring wells and soil vapor sampling points. A potential vapor intrusion concern revealed within the footprint of the proposed retail building will be addressed via a vapor intrusion mitigation plan.

Whitestone conducted geotechnical and environmental due diligence investigations in support of redeveloping a former commercial property in Mobile, Alabama as a new convenience store and filling station.

Babcock Ranch, Florida – Geotechnical

Whitestone provided geotechnical investigation and engineering services for a proposed 14-acre retail development in Babcock Ranch, Florida. Babcock Ranch is a solar-powered, sustainable community located approximately 12 miles inland from Fort Myers in southwestern Florida situated on approximately 18,000 acres adjacent to the Babcock Ranch Preserve wilderness preserve.

Whitestone managed the abatement of asbestos containing materials in support of proposed renovations at a childcare facility in Boca Raton, Florida.

Whitestone conducted subsurface investigations and prepared a remedial strategy evaluation in support of a self-storage facility redevelopment for this former industrial property in Bradenton, Florida.

Broward County, Florida – Geotechnical

Whitestone conducted geotechnical investigation and subsurface exploration for a proposed PDQ restaurant in Broward County, Florida. The proposed redevelopment includes reconfiguring a former bank building, construction a building addition and drive-thru canopy, and installing new pavements and utilities.

Central Florida – Environmental, Geotechnical & Ecological

Whitestone conducted environmental, geotechnical, and ecological due diligence investigations for this large central Florida parcel proposed for mixed-density residential and commercial development. The agricultural site presents significant development challenges including soil impacts from historic pesticide and herbicide use, the presence of manmade and natural wetlands, and an area that had been filled with undocumented, non-native material.

Lady Lake, Florida – Construction Inspection

Whitestone conducted relative humidity (RH) testing (which includes installing probes in the floor slab and returning to the site 72 hours later to record RH) at an existing retail store under renovation for a new tenant in Lady Lake, FL. RH must be determined prior to installing luxury vinyl tile directly on the floor slab to confirm the tile will adhere properly to the underlying concrete surface.

Lakeland, Florida – Ecological

Whitestone’s Ecological Specialists provided wetland permitting and mitigation services for an approximately five-acre wetland located on a 20-acre host parcel being redeveloped as a trucking terminal in Lakeland, Florida.

Miami, Florida – Geotechnical & Construction Inspection

Whitestone provided geotechnical inspection and construction documentation services during installation of vibro-replacement ground improvement for support of a proposed seven-story self-storage building in Miami, Florida.

Orlando, Florida – Hazardous Building Materials

Whitestone conducted a pre-demolition survey for asbestos containing materials (ACM) and evaluation for lead based paint (LBP) for a vacant filling station facility in Orlando, Florida that will be redeveloped as a new convenience store and fueling station.

Pasco County, Florida – Ecological

Whitestone provided ecological consulting services including surveys for the presence of Gopher Tortoises, Florida Sandhill Cranes, Imperiled Wading Birds, Wood Storks and Southeastern American Kestrels at a 15.81-acre charter school development property in Pasco County, Florida.

South Florida – Environmental

Whitestone has employed five dust monitors and one weather station to conduct fugitive dust monitoring services during earthwork at a proposed residential development in South Florida. Site Investigation identified arsenic impacts in the top six inches of soil across the site, and the FDEP approved Soil Management Plan (SMP) required fugitive dust emission monitoring and reporting during earthwork.

Multiple Sites, Florida – Geotechnical

Whitestone conducted geotechnical due diligence investigations to support the development of four-story senior living facilities in Wildwood, FL and Lutz, FL. The investigations consisted of completing soil borings and providing geotechnical recommendations for foundation, floor slab and pavement support. Additional investigations were also completed to delineate a potential sink hole area encountered with the proposed building footprint.

Atlanta, Georgia – Environmental

Whitestone conducted environmental due diligence investigations and provided soil management and health and safety consulting services during renovation of a retail property in Atlanta, Georgia.

Olive Branch, Mississippi – Environmental

Whitestone provided turnkey environmental consulting and waste management services (including recovering petroleum-impacted debris, decontaminating an oil-stained concrete pad, collecting and containerizing recovered petroleum and other liquid wastes, and excavating petroleum-impacted soil for off-site management in support of a client vacating this property in Olive Branch, Mississippi.

Shelby, North Carolina – Environmental

Whitestone completed Phase I ESA and Phase II SI activities to assess potential impacts from historic and current site operations at a Shelby, North Carolina property slated for acquisition and continued operation as an automotive maintenance and repair facility.

Multiple Sites, South Carolina – Environmental & Geotechnical

Whitestone conducted geotechnical and environmental due diligence investigations in support of proposed building expansions at four retail properties in Walterboro, Greenville, Barnwell, and Columbia, South Carolina.

Multiple Sites, Multiple States – Facility Inspection & Assessment

Whitestone conducted Property Condition Assessments (PCA) on a nationwide portfolio of 70 locations from Maine to Florida and as far west as Texas. Some of the subject buildings were greater than 50 years old, and the properties (many with multiple structures) ranged up to 60 acres.

Whitestone completed visual pavement evaluations and surface mapping, performed evaluations of the site subsurface conditions, and developed rehabilitation plans and project specifications for rehabilitation or improvement to existing Wal-Mart distribution center and retail store sites located throughout the Eastern and Midwestern United States.
